This silver bangle is decorated with the image of a griffin, whose tail ends in a decorative scroll. It is fitted with a box clasp that still works securely and is fitted with an extra safety chain to prevent it from slipping off unnoticed.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Size: the inner dimensions are 56 x 51 mm. The bangle is 22 mm wide.
Weight: 28,20 grams
Age: 19th Century, circa 1880s.
Material: Hallmarked with French hallmarks for 800/1000 silver, used between 1838 and 1962. There is also a maker’s mark, which I was not able to identify.
Condition: In good antique condition with signs of wear. The front was originally partially gilded, and faint traces are still visible.
